“What has he earned to deserve that status” : Noah Lyles another chapter in ongoing ‘beef’ with Tyreek Hill

Ever since Noah Lyles’s comments during the 2023 World Athletics Championship about the NBA ‘world champions’ gimmick, fans on social media have been onto the American runner thinking that he intentionally threw a sour one on the NBA. But in actuality, Noah Lyles’ words were indeed correct and was also trying to convey that he wants the athletes who represent their countries receive the same love that the NBA gets.
But most recently, the Olympic gold medalist has a new challenger in the media in NFL player Tyreek Hill. The 30-year-old publicly stated that he would beat Noah Lyles in a race, and after the Olympian finished third in the 200m race, Hill had some harsh words to say.
“Noah Lyles can’t say nothing after what just happened to him. You know what I’m saying? Then he want to come out and pretend like he’s sick. I feel like that’s like horseradish. So, for him to do that and say that we’re not world champions of like our sport, like come on, bro, just speak on what you know about, you know what I’m saying? And that’s track. I would beat Noah Lyles. No, I wouldn’t beat him by a lot, but I would beat Noah Lyles,” said the Miami Dolphins wide receiver in an interview with Kay Adams.
Meanwhile, the current world’s fastest man was not to be shut down. Lyles was recently asked about whether he would put his Olympic gold on the line against Tyreek Hill in a race if it ever happens, to which he had a hysterical reaction to.
“What has he earned to deserve that status? Play football and he is a great football player. But you don’t get to jump the lines because you think you are fast. There are tons of those people in the world out there,” said Noah Lyles in an interview on the Dan Patrick Show.
Will a race between Noah Lyles and Tyreek Hill ever happen?
As of now, besides the banter the two have put up each other to, there is no clear indication if the race will ever happen. Tyreek Hill is one of the fastest ever players in the NFL, with the 30-year-old having a personal best of 4.29 seconds in the 40-yard dash. So, if the race ever happens, we can surely see it for it to be a close one.
Tyreek Hill also possess the widely popular name of ‘cheetah’ in the NFL, but Noah Lyles made sure to joke around even that, and to nobody’s surprise, social media took full advantage of it.
“Ummm, what’s that’s guy, what’s the cheetah guy from football? Well, I can’t remember his name. Mark! What’s the football player who thinks he’s fast name? Tyreek Hill,” said the 27-year-old in a humorous yet insulting manner.
In a world where we saw YouTube personality iShowSpeed (who Tyreek Hill refused to sprint with) race Travis Scott of all celebrities, we never know if this race might happen or not. But if the beef escalates even more, it is safe to say that both athletes will put their money where their mouth is.
