“That’s not my problem either” : Max Verstappen responds to Lewis Hamilton’s ‘act like a world champion’ claim

“That’s not my problem either” : Max Verstappen responds to Lewis Hamilton’s ‘act like a world champion’ claim Max Verstappen has responded to Lewis Hamilton’s remarks earlier this week. The seven-time world champion made some comments on the Dutchman’s conduct in the press, stating that he should act like a world champion. The reigning champion has hit back at the comments, stating that everyone is entitled to have their own opinion. Lewis Hamilton’s remarks came on the back of their crash at the Hungarian GP last weekend, where the duo were racing for a P3 finish. The Dutchman finished P5 as a result of the crash, as he has now gone three races without a victory. Max Verstappen seemed pretty angry on the radio throughout the race, as he was unhappy with his team’s strategy. Going back to his comments on Lewis Hamilton’s remark, Max Verstappen stated that it’s not his task to dwell on such incidents for a long time. “You know what it is, everyone can have their opinion,” Verstappen said. “That’s all fine, but I can’t do anything with that. That’s not my problem either. You don’t have to dwell on it for very long either. It’s all resolved and we’ll just get on with it,” said Verstappen. “It was nice to be in Monaco” : Max Verstappen Max Verstappen stated that it was nice to be back home in Monaco for a while before the Belgian GP. The Dutchman has been heavily criticized for his conduct during the previous race weekend, however, he stated that such things do not bother him. “Everyone has their own opinion, of course, and they all just do their thing. I go home, I do my thing. It was nice to be in Monaco for a while, too,” said Verstappen. Max Verstappen has taken a 10-place engine grid penalty at the Belgian GP, which means that he will have to make up a lot of places to end up on the podium. His teammate Sergio Perez will be expected to step up for his team, and have a good qualifying session on Saturday. “114 points! If we do that, we win the league for sure”: Mikel Arteta on what Arsenal can do to topple Manchester City

“114 points”! If we do that, we win the league for sure: ” Mikel Arteta on what Arsenal can do to topple Manchester City Arsenal have been the most improved side in the Premier League over the past couple of seasons. The Gunners have finished as the runners-up for two consecutive seasons now, as they came agonizingly close to Manchester City last season. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has revealed as to what it would take for Arsenal to topple Manchester City this season. And his answer was pretty straightforward, as he believes that their only objective should be to win all their league matches. Although this might not seem realistic, Mikel Arteta expects his team to go out on the field with the same mindset every single time. Mikel Arteta revealed that the team will have to raise their standards this season, given that a couple of other teams could challenge for the title as well. The Spaniard also claimed that he will himself have to raise his standards if they are to lay their hands on the title this time around. “The message is clear – we need more from everybody. More from everybody including me. I need to raise the standards, I need to bring something I haven’t brought yet. Individually and collectively the same. The more we do that, the better the chance it’s going to be to win the Premier League. This is what we want basically. Just work every day with that excitement and understanding of the difficulty. And when those difficulties come, stay together and go through them efficiently,” said Arteta, as quoted by the Goal. Mikel Arteta reveals Arsenal’s biggest objective of the season Mikel Arteta claimed that Arsenal’s biggest objective of the season would be to develop a mindset of winning all games. This way they will never be dependent on other teams to drop points, as we move into the final stages of the season. “114 points”! he claimed. “If we do that, we win the league for sure. This is the objective, from there we’ll see what we get. Earn the right to win it and have the biggest probability over the opponent. When we have difficulties that we are still better than the opponents. That’s really the objective.” Arsenal remain the only side in Premier League history to have gone unbeaten during an entire league campaign. This was during the 2003-04 campaign, and it is such an extraordinary feat that no club has been able to achieve it so far. Arsenal finished second in the league last time around, ending just two points behind eventual champions Manchester City. A busy transfer window lies ahead for the Gunners, as they will need to bolster their squad in several positions. Also Read: Is Lionel Messi playing in the 2024 Summer Olympics?

Who has won the most gold medals in singles at the Summer Olympics? Tennis was introduced in the Summer Olympics back in 1896 and it was contested until 1924. The record is the highest number of gold medals that has been won in Tennis Singles events at the Summer Olympics, and it was set by Andy Murray. He won a gold medal in both the 2012 and 2016 editions of the men’s tennis singles. Since then Andy Murray is the only men’s player to have won two singles gold medals. Moreover, his winning streak also included a silver medal in mixed doubles at the 2012 Summer Olympics alongside Laura Robson for Great Britain. He will be making his fifth Olympic appearance, and is expected to compete in singles tennis as part of Great Britain’s team. He has appeared in the 2008 and 2016 editions of the Olympics. He won the gold medal in men’s singles tennis at the 2004 Beijing Olympics. Though he couldn’t quite manage to continue his winning streak, he will be looking forward to turning this around in the 2024 edition of the Summer Olympics. Now on the female tennis circuit, though gold medals were won many times, no one quite held it more than once. However, the most notable winners among them are the sisters Serena and Venus Williams. They ruled the tennis fields of the Summer Olympics tournament for quite some time as they both acquired a gold medal each in the Summer Olympics, however, it was the doubles side of the tennis where they truly shined by clinching together the gold medal thrice.  Also Read: “I have to keep my mouth shut and just listen to him”: Carlos Alcaraz on teaming up with Rafael Nadal at Paris Olympics

“The fact that I am not the bookmakers’ favorite is just a motivation for me” : Novak Djokovic ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics Novak Djokovic has entered the 2024 Paris Olympics as the top seed, after Jannik Sinner pulled out of the event owing to an illness. The Serbian is scheduled to face Matthew Ebden in the first round, followed by a potential second round clash against Rafael Nadal. The Olympic gold medal is missing from Novak Djokovic’s rich collection of trophies and accolades. The Serbian reached the semifinals of the Tokyo Olympics last time around, however, failed to secure a medal for his country. The veteran believes that he will be able to show his mettle at the Olympic Games this time around. Additionally, he stated that given the fact that he is not the favorite to win the gold medal, that just serves him some extra motivation. Just like every athlete, the Olympic Games mean a lot to Novak Djokovic. He was seen weeping, when he lost Juan Martin del Potro at the 2016 Rio Olympics. This could be his final opportunity to secure a gold medal at the Summer Olympic Games. “I am very excited. I think the Olympic Games are a very important event. I can’t wait to represent my country. I have great expectations for this tournament. I lost in the semifinals in Tokyo and I will try to improve on the results of three years ago,” Novak Djokovic said. “I feel good compared to and more ready than I was before Wimbledon. I had many opportunities to win gold and now I have to start taking advantage of them. The fact that I am not the bookmakers’ favorite is just a motivation for me,” Novak Djokovic said in the press conference. “It would be exciting to play against Nadal in the second round” : Novak Djokovic In some of the biggest surprises of the draw, 24-time Grand Slam champion could face 22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal in the second round in Paris. This will be their 60th meeting on all surfaces, with the record slightly in the favor of the Serbian, who leads 30-29 in head to head encounters. Novak Djokovic stated that it would be exciting to play against his old rival in the second round. The Serbian also revealed that he expects to adapt pretty quickly to the clay courts here, given that he played the French Open just a couple of months earlier. This season has not been going in the way Novak Djokovic would have planned. He is yet to win a single title this season, however, he would surely love an Olympic gold medal which completes his trophy cabinet. “It would be exciting to play against Nadal in the second round. The Olympic Games have always been a great challenge for me. I have focused all my preparation on this tournament. I think I will adapt immediately to the conditions of Roland Garros since we played there two months ago,” he added. “Act like a World Champion” : Lewis Hamilton takes a dig at Max Verstappen after Hungarian GP antics

“Act like a World Champion” : Lewis Hamilton takes a dig at Max Verstappen after Hungarian GP antics Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen seemed to have reignited their rivalry at the 2024 Hungarian GP last weekend. The two drivers had a collision in the final stages of the race, with Max Verstappen chasing a P3 finish. However, the Dutchman could only finish P5 after his clash with Lewis Hamilton costed him a couple of places. Max Verstappen was very grumpy during the Hungarian GP, as was heard during his interactions on the team radio. He also seemed to be annoyed with his team’s strategy, which he believes cost him the race victory. After the race, Max Verstappen also had a couple of heated interviews, where he blamed Lewis Hamilton for the crash. Lewis Hamilton took a jibe at Max Verstappen in the press conference of the Belgian GP, stating that he should act like a world champion. He did not take his name directly, but his comments were intended for the Red Bull driver. “You have to be a team leader, a team member. Maybe not such a team leader but just always remember you’re a team-mate with lots of people and you have to act like a World Champion,” said Lewis Hamilton, as quoted by Planet F1. Lewis Hamilton surprised by Max Verstappen penalty decision Lewis Hamilton stated that he was pretty surprised by the stewards’ decision to not award a penalty to Max Verstappen for causing the crash. However, he put it down to a racing incident for now, but plans to have a conversation with the stewards in the due course. “Yes. Very much so. I was really, really surprised by it. I think already I was very relaxed about the situation just saying: ‘Look, it’s just a racing incident, let’s just move on. But considering one car was in control and one car was not in control at the time. Obviously, when all the wheels are locked, you’re not in control,” said Hamilton. “And if you look at the replay, at the end of the whole move I’m very, very far from the apex – there’s a lot of room on the right-hand side – so I was very, very surprised. That will be a question when I speak to [the stewards] at some stage.” Frustrations seem to be growing for Max Verstappen and Red Bull at the moment. The Dutchman has not win a race after the Spanish GP, finishing outside the podium places in Austria and in Hungary last week. Meanwhile, for Red Bull, Sergio Perez’s performances have not done any favors as McLaren are within touching distance of the reigning champions in the Constructors championship. Along with singles, Rafael Nadal will also scheduled to play the doubles event with world number three Carlos Alcaraz. The Spaniard won the gold medal in Doubles at the 2016 Rio Olympics, in addition to his singles gold medal at Beijing 2008. Rafael Nadal on collision with Novak Djokovic in Paris Rafael Nadal could face Novak Djokovic in the second round of the 2024 Paris Olympics. After Jannik Sinner’s withdrawal, the Serbian has entered the draw as the top seed, followed by Carlos Alcaraz as the second seed. Rafael Nadal will face Marton Fucsovics in the first round, as Novak Djokovic faces Matthew Ebden. A win for both players in the first round means that they will clash against each other in the second round. However, this is also given the fact that Rafael Nadal is able to compete at the Olympics. Rafael Nadal had a long week in Bastad before coming to Paris. He ended as the runner-up at the Swedish Open, losing to Nuno Borges in the finals in straight sets. The Spaniard played a four hour long quarterfinals, which was followed by another three set match in the semifinals.
