Three things we learned from Arsenal’s victory over Nottingham Forest

Three things we learned from Arsenal’s victory over Nottingham Forest Have the Gunners finally woken up? Arsenal beat current rivals Nottingham Forest in an impressive 3-0 victory at the Emirates. Bukayo Saka yet again was the star of the show as he scored a stunner while substitutes Thomas Partey and Ethan Nwaneri put the seal on the victory. The North London club is now back in the Champions League spots and just one point away from second place. Saka is the main man Unbeaten in five games, Forest’s confidence was sky but it was all extinguished after 14 minutes courtesy of Bukayo Saka’s brilliance up front, as he dribbled past three of the Tricky Trees’s players and shot a diagonal ball which almost went top bins, but it was a goal nonetheless. This makes it four goals and eight assists for the Englishman across all competitions this season, but stats do not do justice to the prolific right winger, who just has so much more to offer. The 23-year-old is definitely living up to his nickname ‘starboy’. Martin Odegaard completes the team Just three minutes into the match, Odegaard reminded everyone why he was missed so much as he helped the Gunners take the lead via a world class assist finished by Mikel Merino’s header which rebounded to Jurrien Timber. Although the goal was later ruled offside, it was a clear indication of the Gunners going all out from the start, as the Norwegian captain ran circles around the defence, while also making 15 successful passes in the final third in just the first half alone. But probably the most important thing Odegaard offers to the team apart from his playmaking is his chemistry with Bukayo Saka. The duo just clicks when together, be it for threading the needle passes or quickly combining for one-two. And we saw this partnership yet again during Saka’s moment of brilliance which led to the first goal. Mikel Arteta is surely glad to have the 25-year-old back to his starting eleven. Much-needed win on Arteta’s 250th game in charge The Gunners last won a Premier League game in early October, and were coming into this matchup winless in their last three games. The Spainard channelled in his inner genius and made five changes to the team which drew against Chelsea previously, while also keeping important players like Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Gabriel Martinelli on the bench so as to keep them fresh for the upcoming matches. While Odegaard and Saka were the highlight of the show, Thomas Partey did well as the replacement to Rice and also scored a goal. Substitute Ethan Nwaneri was also part of the action as he scored his very first Premier League goal which secured victory. What’s next The Gunners will now travel to Portugal on Tuesday to face the in-form Sporting CP as matchday 5 of the UEFA Champions League takes place midweek. “Arteta loves to play games with the opposition” : Oleksandr Zinchenko sheds light on Mikel Arteta’s pre-match mind games

“Arteta loves to play games with the opposition” : Oleksandr Zinchenko sheds light on Mikel Arteta’s pre-match mind games Mikel Arteta has transformed the Gunners into a championship-winning team, as Arsenal are finally one of the top clubs in Europe who consistently perform in the Champions League as well. But apart from the Spaniard’s in-game tactics, it has been revealed that he is quite the genius off the pitch as well.  Previously, the Spainard’s unique pickpocketing technique to keep the players alert all the time went viral, in addition to the infamous lightbulb analogy he used to inspire players as we saw in the All or Nothing documentary on Amazon Prime. Recently, Arsenal left back Oleksandr Zinchenko revealed another ‘tactic’ of the Spaniard, which is not for his players this time around, but is used to throw off rival managers. Mikel Arteta likes to keep the other team guessing Speaking to the Athletic, the Ukrainian revealed how the Spainard likes to keep things uncertain and not reveal his tactics to the opposition, even if it takes to go to great lengths like making injured players travel and do a little act in front of the cameras. “I’ve seen Mikel Arteta tell injured players to come on the team bus and walk into the dressing room with their wash bag, to put the other manager off the scent. Arteta loves to play games with the opposition.” Zinchenko revealed. Of course this is not a new strategy, but the Ukrainian believes that Arteta does not owe the opposition to see right through their management. In football, even the slightest of details could very well be the difference maker, and the Spainard understands this thoroughly, as he likes his opposition second-guessing everything. An example of this strategy was already seen, when the Spainard stated that Bukayo Saka was ‘uncertain’ to play in their clash against Liverpool, but the winger started regardless and also scored nine minutes in during a 2-2 draw at the Emirates. “I don’t want to make it easy for anyone, the opponent has to do their homework – like I do. If I know something for sure, I won’t lie, but if I’m uncertain, I’ll keep them guessing.” the Spainard explained post-match. While these tactics are all well and good, the Gunners are still nine points behind Liverpool, and no other sly mind games will help the Spaniard and co. reduce the lead. Arsenal will look to close the gap against Nottingham Forest this weekend, who are breathing down their necks at fifth place, as they cannot afford to drop down even more at this point of the season. Former Arsenal player reveals the reason Mikel Arteta excluded Matteo Guendouzi from his plans

Former Arsenal player reveals the reason Mikel Arteta excluded Matteo Guendouzi from his plans Good managers always do their best to unlock their players’ potential, but it does not help when the players’ attitude is one of reluctance. Matteo Guendouzi suffered a similar kind of fate with his then manager Mikel Arteta, as he was dropped out of the pecking order and his overall plans completely. The midfielder was one of the best young prospects by the time he joined the Gunners in 2018, and under coach Unai Emery, he deservedly got plenty of starts and playing time, as he played 33 league games and 15 cup competitions in his debut season only. But the Frenchman’s luck changed when Mikel Arteta arrived as head coach in late 2019, as the likes of Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira were chosen ahead of him in the Spainard’s game plans. Guendouzi was the victim of loan transfers, as he moved to Hertha Berlin and Marseille, the latter is where he started playing permanently starting 2022.  According to former Arsenal player Jeremie Aliadiere (spent six years with the club starting age 16), who played with Guendouzi back in his Lorient days, Guendouzi suffered this mainly because of attitude issues. “Frankly, from the point of view of talent and purely football, if I’m just talking about that, there is no surprise. After, during my last season in Lorient, when he started to train with us and to play, I had a little question about his attitude. I said to myself: He’ll have to change a bit.” said Aliadiere (via Le Telegramme). “He’s in Lorient, so it’s understandable, it’s a small family club, that’s it. But if he wants to climb the ladder and go play in a big club, his attitude will have to change. I think he understood that right away when he arrived [at Arsenal].” Guendouzi admits that his relationship with Mikel Arteta was ‘not the best’ The Frenchman has shown some signs of aggressiveness to validate this theory, as in 2020, he saw himself excluded from the Spainard’s training and match day plans following a post-match altercation with Brighton’s Neal Maupay. This ultimately led to his loan move to Hertha Berlin. But, Guendouzi revealed two years later that this moment was not the reason for his exit from the North London club, and that journalists and media outlets have falsely pinpointed this moment as an excuse. “Journalists used this excuse to say that we had a bad relationship and that’s why I stopped playing and left Arsenal.” said Matteo Guenduozi “Not at all. It’s a gesture like many on the pitch. There’s a lot of tension sometimes, a lot of problems on the pitch. In any case, it has nothing to do with all that.” the Frenchman added. Although, the Lazio midfielder did admit that his relationship with Mikel Arteta in general was not good, regardless of this spat. “It’s true that I didn’t have the best relationship with him. Beyond that, I always tried to work, always gave the maximum of myself in training and in matches. I still play a few matches with him, I still did great performances. He preferred other players and I respect that decision. That’s why, afterwards, I also decided to leave because I was still young, I needed playing time to continue to progress. The most important when you’re young is to play.” the 25-year-old explained. Matteo Guendouzi now plays his football in Italy under Lazio, where he has started all 12 games for the Serie A side, contributing a goal and an assist. He is also currently with the France national team as part of the Nations League squad, but was an unused substitute in their recent draw against Israel. “I’m performing at the highest level I’ve ever performed” : Harry Kane indicates that the 2026 World Cup might not be his last tournament

“I’m performing at the highest level I’ve ever performed” : Harry Kane indicates that the 2026 World Cup might not be his last tournament Harry Kane has been on an insane scoring run since the past few years, and some might even say that the England skipper is performing better than he did in his peak 20s. Be it playing for the Three Lions or Bayern Munich, it comes as no surprise when we see the 31-year-old’s name on the scoring sheet every time. The forward was yet again part of the scoring against the Republic of Ireland, as England beat them 5-0 and secured their promotion to the top tier of Nations League. This marks his 20th goal of the season already overall, in addition to 9 assists, all in just three months. Kane now has 69 goals to his name in 103 appearances for his nation, which begs the question – will he keep up with this form till the 2026 World Cup, or perhaps even beyond that? When quizzed about whether or not the next World Cup will be it for him, he explained how footballers after the age of 30 are perceived, and that he is feeling better than he ever has. “I don’t think so. I think there’s a perception when you get to your 30s that you’re coming to an end but for me I’m performing at the highest level I’ve ever performed and feel as good as I’ve ever felt, so it’s about taking in the moment.” said Kane (via Reuben Rosso-Powell from the PA News Agency). “I don’t like to look too far ahead and in my career I never have, the World Cup is going to be exciting.” “In America it will be an incredible occasion and ultimately it’s about trying to win that, looking at where you are, where to improve and it will be no different in a couple of years.” the 31-year-old added. Kane is spot on, as it is not the first time we have seen a player over the age of 30 reach world class levels. Even if we exclude Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo from this list, the likes of Luis Suarez, Luka Modric, Robert Lewandowski, Karim Benzema, Kevin de Bruyne have reached unprecedented levels in their respective positions. “We’ve come close on a couple of occasions and the next step is for me and the other boys to win” : Harry Kane Kane was also asked about if he would like to have a statue in Wembley stadium just like the great Bobby Moore, to which his simple answer was that they needed to win the World Cup first for such an honour. He also mentioned that the arrival of new head coach Thomas Tuchel will certainly help matters going forward. “I think we need to win a major tournament, we’ve come close on a couple of occasions and the next step is for me and the other boys to win.” “We have a new coach coming in March. He’ll be great for us, he has vast experience in the big competitions, he’ll bring a great energy to the team and he’ll put his own stamp and identity on the way we play tactically.” Talking about statues, the England captain’s statue was unveiled today at the Peter May Centre in London, to which he had some special words for. “It’s pretty special to be honest, these are things I didn’t think of when I was young.” “These little moments are special and this is where I first started playing, it all began here and it was the building blocks of my career. This is a great inspiration for the boys and girls who play,” Kane said. Arsenal icon defends Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka amid the criticism by Harry Kane for pulling out of the Nations League games

Arsenal icon defends Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka amid the criticism by Harry Kane for pulling out of the Nations League games With already the third international break upon us in November, the amount of heavy injuries occurred this season has been something of concern. Players have been getting knocked left and right, which has led to many top talents skipping their international call-ups for some much-needed rest. Over at North London, tensions have been rising up for the Gunners from all areas. With failure to claim the Premier League trophy in two decades, Arsenal now find themselves fourth in the table, nine points behind Liverpool who seem to show no signs of stopping. While the international break came at the right time for Mikel Arteta, yet another problem arrives for him through injuries. Captain Martin Odegaard was the first big injury the Gunners had to endure, and now, probably the two most important players for the Spaniard, Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka have also skipped the international matches due to sustaining injuries. This definitely holds off Arteta’s plans of fully utilizing the international break. “I think England comes before anything. England comes before club.” : Harry Kane wants maximum participation during national games The Three Lions skipper Harry Kane recently called out the England squad, and was disappointed that many players withdrew from participating in the upcoming Nations League matches. Although England were easily able to beat Greece 3-0, the Bayern Munich forward believes that key players should always be present regardless of the importance of the national team matches. “I think England comes before anything. England comes before club.” said Kane. “It’s a tough period of the season and maybe that’s been taken advantage of a little bit, I don’t really like it if I’m totally honest. I think England comes before anything, any club situation.” the England captain added. Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Paul Merson has come out to defend Rice and Saka, while acknowledging Kane’s thoughts for England to get back on track and get promoted to the big table. “I can understand that but at the same time Rice wasn’t fit, Saka came off with about 10, 15 minutes to go in probably a must-win game for Arsenal [against Chelsea] at the time,” said Merson (via Sky Sports). “I’ll go with the players on this one, but again, this is a big football match. We need to win this football match to get back to the big table with the big nations because otherwise we’re going to play these countries again and that’s when you get withdrawals at the same time.” the 56-year-old added. While this club vs country debate may go on forever, the Gunners do not have that much time to get their grip on. Mikel Arteta’s main worry might be Liverpool right now, but we all know how Pep Guardiola and co. turn the tides on later in the second half. The Spaniard will need to look for solutions fast in order to catch up to the competition. “He has already proved that he is a coach that has won a lot” : Casemiro believes new Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim can take them to the next level

“He has already proved that he is a coach that has won a lot” : Casemiro believes new Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim can take them to the next level After a relatively horror start to the season under head coach Erik ten Hag, Manchester United are finding their footing under interim coach Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Undefeated in four matches while scoring goals for fun, it seems like it is finally time for the Red Devils to properly take charge over their season. Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim has already been appointed as the new head coach for United. The former Sporting manager has been highly victorious in Portugal and with the atmosphere finally getting a bit positive in Manchester, it seems like the perfect opportunity to revive the club back to its glory days. Amorim left Sporting CP with a perfect record of 11 wins out of 11 games this season, and will be looking forward to continue his success now in a much more competitive league. On the player’s side, one of the more veteran players of the squad in Casemiro recently spoke about how the whole group is looking forward to learn and grow with the help from the Portuguese manager, in hopes to save the remainder of the season from total embarrassment. “I think there is going to be a good template that everyone wants to grow, everyone wants to learn” : Casemiro The Brazilian midfielder himself had one of the worst starts of the season in his career, to a point where fans and even football pundits wanted him to retire or play in the lower leagues. But the 32-year-old changed his fortunes under the interim manager as well, and believes Amorim is the right person to take the squad forward. “He is very true, very loyal, we cannot ignore how he has changed Sporting (Lisbon). We know that Sporting won many titles, changed the club with titles, with trophies. He has already proved that he is a coach that has won a lot.” said the Brazilian. “I want to continue growing, I want to continue helping my team-mates and the coach, helping Manchester United grow.” the five-time Champions League winner added. For Ruben Amorim, the job will definitely not be an easy one as the Red Devils are currently sit 13th in the points table with just four wins out of 11 games. The Dutchman really left things in a mess and the 39-year-old would require all the help from Van Nistelrooy and co. to make amends going into the second half of the season, at least initially. “I think we dominated them, we were the better team in many phases and situations” : Was Mikel Arteta ‘furious’ over the draw at Stamford Bridge?

“I think we dominated them, we were the better team in many phases and situations” : Was Mikel Arteta ‘furious’ over the draw at Stamford Bridge? Just when we thought the Gunners could come back to the title race after Manchester City’s surprising drought, fellow North London club Chelsea was there to stop the fun for Mikel Arteta and co. After a rather unconvincing yet very open 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge, Arsenal sit fourth in the points table, as the first position seems too far fetched to even think about right now, considering the form Liverpool have been in. Drastic changes are yet to be seen, but the Spainard needs to sort things out quickly in order to stay alive even in the top four, as Nottingham Forest, Brighton, Fulham, Newcastle and Aston Villa are literally breathing down their necks. Speaking of the Spainard, reports have widely suggested that he was ‘furious’ and highly ‘disappointed’ with his players after the draw, but that does not seem to be the case at all. “I’m very proud of the team with how they reacted” : Mikel Arteta’s words say otherwise Speaking to Sky Sports after the draw, Mikel Arteta was obviously disappointed, even a bit frustrated perhaps, which makes sense especially after the close call which would have sealed them the win at the final minutes of the game. But it is quite incorrect to say that the Spaniard was in any way ‘angry’. “I think we dominated them, we were the better team in many phases and situations in the game and after going ahead, very disappointed in the way we conceded. It was so poor. It is not our standards and we don’t accept,” said Arteta. The Spainard also suggested that the team needs to stop being so disorientated and try to think quickly and effectively to move the ball forward, but not before saying how proud he was of the whole team’s efforts, completely nullifying the reports that state that he was ‘angry’. “Really proud, but at the end we are here to get the three points and we didn’t. It is a second phase set piece and we were disorganised. We don’t reorganise quick enough and you can’t allow the pass that way.” said the 42-year-old. “You need the quality of Neto to do it but our standards were not good enough. They are all disappointed as a team. I’m very proud of the team with how they reacted. We wanted the three points and we didn’t get them.” the Spaniard added. Regardless of how the media has portrayed him, Arteta did also add some good points, addressing that a big change is needed in order to come back to winning ways and a plan is in the process.  “You could see everything was flowing but again it is about winning. We have a clear vision how we can evolve the team. What we find out is that we have to change something big because we have problem after problem. But this team is able to adapt. My biggest fear is physically to get players at their best for 90 minutes. With that I’m fully confident we will have a good season.” Arteta explained. Luckily for the Spaniard, the international break has arrived right on time for him and his staff to ready the players for a massive title charge come December.

“He just looks like someone who would be a good manager for Manchester United” : Peter Schmeichel opts for Thomas Tuchel as ideal replacement for Erik ten Hag

“He just looks like someone who would be a good manager for Manchester United” : Peter Schmeichel opts for Thomas Tuchel as ideal replacement for Erik ten Hag It is Erik ten Hag’s third season with the Red Devils, and apart from winning the FA Cup and the League Cup in his tenure, no significant progress seems to be showing, and fans are now seeming to be losing patience. Things could not have gone worse for the Dutchman, as Manchester United have started off their 24/25 campaign in the worst possible way. Now sitting 14th in the Premier League table with just two wins out of seven matches played, after another big money summer transfer window, ten Hag’s job looks to be in serious jeopardy. Legendary Manchester United goalkeeper and now pundit Peter Schmeichel believes that there is no point for Erik ten Hag to be sacked right now, but if a change were to happen, he stated that he would like former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel to take charge. “I like Thomas Tuchel, I really like him. Being around the Champions League, talking to him and interviewing him, listening to him talk to his players in the technical area, he just looks like someone who would be a good manager for Manchester United.” said Schmeichel (via the Seaman Says podcast). “I just think he’s got such a great aura around him that he fits the bill for United” : Peter Schmeichel Thomas Tuchel is one of the most reputed managers in world football, thanks to his tenures with Borussia Dortmund and especially Chelsea, where he won the UEFA Champions League, Super Cup, Club World Cup, and the world’s best club coach award. The Danish pundit realises this, and also believes that the German coached Chelsea and Bayern Munich at the wrong time. “With the last two jobs Thomas Tuchel had, at Chelsea and at Bayern Munich, he was at those two clubs at the wrong time. Chelsea was a mess when he was there with the new owners coming in. At Bayern it was similar because they changed the whole leadership of the club,” said the former United goalkeeper. “I don’t think he got his way at Chelsea and I know for sure he didn’t get his way at Bayern Munich. I just think he’s got such a great aura around him that he fits the bill for United. But, Erik ten Hag is still the manager.” the 60-year-old added. The Danish also stated that he wants Erik ten Hag to succeed, as changing managers again and again would not be ideal and will hamper with consistency. But, he also admitted that he is not sure whether or not the Dutchman is the right person to take the Red Devils to the top. “I will support him because I want the club to do well. I don’t want United to be the club that changes the manager all the time. I hope they stick with Erik because we need consistency now. Let him have a fair go at this. He’s been hampered by a lot of things over the last two years, now he’s got his own players, let him show us what the plan is and what he can do with the football club. If that doesn’t work then maybe then we talk about a change.” “I don’t know to be completely honest. I really, really don’t know. I don’t think the owners think he is the one because we saw they were speaking to other managers in the summer and even recently there has been linked with Thomas Tuchel. I don’t know. If they decide to change the manager then fair enough, but I just don’t see the point in doing that right now. There’s a lot of things happening at the club at the moment so it’s difficult to judge precisely where the team is.” Schmeichel reflected. Peter Schmeichel also wants the owners and fans to be a bit more patient, but admits that their league position is not doing them any favours. He also talked about waiting for the new players to have a solid impact at games as nothing can be proved at such a short span of time. “Will we get back? How long until we get back? When is that going to happen? I think we need a bit of patience to see how the new guys that have come in are going to impact the club. It’s difficult to have a massive impact in such a short space of time. It’s been like this since Sir Alex [Ferguson] left so it’s a long, long period they have to correct. I’m all for giving them time but as we speak we’re 14th in the table so it’s not good enough.” the United legend concluded. To say that Erik ten Hag’s days as manager are numbered is an understatement, because if things keep up this way, we could very well see a new manager at Old Trafford right after the international break. “Something has changed in him” : Mikel Arteta confident about Kai Havertz reaching ‘another level’

“Something has changed in him” : Mikel Arteta confident about Kai Havertz reaching ‘another level’ Kai Havertz has been one of the most polarizing figures ever since his debut in the Premier League, with good reason. Originally playing an attacking midfielder’s role, the German was appointed to the striker position in Chelsea and now with the Gunners, and has since been widely criticized for his unconvincing performances. Initially being termed as not clinical enough, Havertz has come a long way trying to adapt his new role. With 4 goals in 7 Premier League matches and a total of 6 in all competitions this season, the German is finally looking like the complete striker he was sought out to be. The 25-year-old was once again in the scoresheet in the North London club’s 3-1 victory over Southampton, making it the seventh consecutive time he has scored in the Emirates, matching the record set by Robin van Persie. Apart from the German, wingers Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli also scored in the latter minutes of the second half to make the game out of reach for Russell Martin’s team. “He wants more and he’s not satisfied with what he’s doing” : Mikel Arteta impressed by the German’s recent form In the post-match press conference afterwards, the Spainard coach spoke keenly about his striker, suggesting that his qualities and consistency will be the key for him to become a 20-goal striker. “You can tell [his confidence has grown], he takes the ball and he runs with the ball. He’s on high press, he goes full gas, the way he holds the ball, the position he takes in the box. He’s an attacking midfielder, he plays as a nine, you don’t know where he is, that’s his football brain. His focus now is ‘I’m going to win the game, I’m going to do it’ and that’s a different thing.” said Arteta. Strikers usually rely on others to create chances and provide good balls inside the penalty area, but the ones who are good on the ball as well often go at the top. The names of Luis Suarez, Karim Benzema, Robert Lewandowski and Harry Kane come to mind. In his early Dortmund days, the Polish was taught the art of ball control and playing by Jurgen Klopp before he was pushed to the target man spot. Havertz’s career trajectory has also gone a similar way till now, as in his time in Leverkusen, he was regarded as one of the best young attacking midfield prospects. “When he’s practising, he wants more and he’s not satisfied with what he’s doing because there is still, I think, another level from him, obviously, he’s surrounded by incredible players but something has changed in him and that confidence, you really sense it and now he’s putting it into games and he’s winning football matches which is great.” the Spainard reflected. Apart from the extraterrestrial goalscoring abilities displayed by Erling Haaland and Cole Palmer, Kai Havertz is just around the corner with the Premier League’s top attackers. But the catch is, the German does way more on the pitch whether on the ball or off, something which simple statistics cannot justify. “I hope that Arsenal regret letting Emile Smith-Rowe leave” : Louis Saha believes young midfielder will be the key for Fulham to European qualification

“I hope that Arsenal regret letting Emile Smith-Rowe leave” : Louis Saha believes young midfielder will be the key for Fulham to European qualification Being part of the Gunners since his early days, Emile Smith-Rowe’s shock transfer to Fulham was first seen as just a developmental move. Now, just a month into the new season, the Englishman has showcased numerous impressive performances already and has been receiving world class shouts by fans and analysts. The Cottagers have had a strong start to the season, as they are currently sixth in the Premier League table with three wins and two draws. The midfield of Smith-Rowe and Andreas Pereira have been the glue for them both in acceleration and defence. Emile Smith-Rowe has already become an indispensable starter for Marco Silva, as things could not have started any better for Fulham, who finished 13th last season. This has led to many speculations about them being the dark horses this season, potentially earning a European berth on the way. Most recently, former Fulham player Louis Saha had some admirable words on the Englishman, while also addressing if the Gunners would eventually regret letting the 24-year-old leave. “You can tell when you watch Smith Rowe that he was educated at Arsenal” : Louis Saha Louis Saha, who spent the prime years of his career with the Red Devils, still holds a special place for Fulham in his heart, and is delighted to see ‘top talents’ like Emile Smith-Rowe joining Craven Cottage and not looking at it as a downgrade. The Frenchman also went on and praised the insane start Smith-Rowe has had in his Fulham career. “I absolutely love Fulham Football Club. They will always have a special place in my heart, and it makes me happy to see that the club are able to sign top, top talents, players that don’t see moving to Fulham as a step down, but more like a trampoline and an opportunity for them to boost their careers.” said Saha (via cryptocasiosuk.net). “I hope that Arsenal regret letting Emile Smith-Rowe leave because that would mean that he has been a great signing for Fulham. You can tell when you watch Smith-Rowe that he was educated at Arsenal in terms of his speed of thought, the way he does things. He’s incisive and he makes Fulham play with more purpose and speed.” the 46-year-old added. Even if the North London club are not regretting the departure of the Englishman right now, they would definitely not mind his presence, especially with the heavy ankle injury sustained by their captain Martin Odegaard. Alas, Smith-Rowe would have been the perfect back up for the Norwegian. The Frenchman also gave credits to the Portuguese coach, and how effectively he has made use of the duo of Andreas Periera and Emile Smith-Rowe in the midfield. He believes that the Cottagers will be fighting candidates for European football next season. Fulham have never played in the Champions League throughout their history, while only qualifying for the Europa League twice. “Having Smith-Rowe and Pereira in your midfield adds a lot of creativity and gives Marco Silva some great options. Fulham have wingers that want to attack, and Smith Rowe will complement the way that they can hurt opponents. These days, Fulham are playing a type of football where they will give anyone a game. They can cause problems to anybody in the Premier League. It’s amazing to see them use this approach.” said the Frenchman, who scored 63 goals in 142 appearances for Fulham. Emile Smith-Rowe now has the chance to show his worth to the Gunners, all while propelling Fulham to greater heights, and potentially a historic feat of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.
