“Track athletes do it for a living” : Micah Parsons believes Tyreek Hill will not be able to Noah Lyles in a track event

The debate regarding who is the faster athlete between Noah Lyles and Tyreek Hill is the most talked about sports news in the western world right now. This ‘dispute’ between the two athletes started during the Paris Olympics when Lyles stated that Super Bowl champions are not world champions, whereas the Miami Dolphins wide receiver stated that he would beat Lyles if a race were ever to happen.

After throwing a few jabs at each other in interviews, there has still been nothing official surrounding this beef, but the debates continue to rage on social media with fans picking their sides.

Following this, even some famous personalities of the NFL got into the debate, with linebacker Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys saying that although he admired how quick Hill is, he should stay as far away as possible from Noah Lyles.

“He (Noah Lyles) do sound a little corny sometimes, but man, that boy fast. Tyreek, don’t want none of that. No. Tyreek , stay away from that. Man, you don’t want that. I mean, a professional runner,” said the 25-year-old in an interview.

“I’m gonna take Noah Lyles. I put the 50 up. You just ain’t trained for it. Now you talking about a year or two of training. It’s different. It’s real different, but fresh out of your sleep, stay away from that, Reek. You can outrun some football players, but track speed different. I learned that,” Parsons added.

“Track athletes would destroy any fast football player” : Ronde Barber

Most recently, former Tampa Bay cornerback and NFL legend Ronde Barber got into the mix, and revealed where he stands regarding this date. Barber made some wise points, and admitted that track and field athletes prepare in a different way than football players and would easily get rid of them if there was a race.

“I was a terrific hurdler in high school since I started really young. The first time I cleared a hurdle, I believe I was in sixth grade. By the time I reached the 10th grade and started competing at a higher level, I had been honing my skills for four years. I would often wonder why these sprinters, Noah Lyles or anyone else, are so fast; why they can regularly run nine somethings when 10.5 [seconds] was considered fast in the past,” the 49-year-old said in an interview.

Ronde Barber, who stated that his first love has always been track and field, believes that when it comes to a race, professional runners would beat even the fastest football players due to their technique, experience in the field, and the way they have trained over the years.

Although both are busy in their respective current endeavours, it is becoming quite clear that if a race were to ever happen, there will be far too many bets on the three-time Olympic medalist than the 30-year-old wide receiver.
